Tree Poem

winter’s warning: fall
is upon us.
bare boned –
leaves swept off
tired tree
limbs; needing a rest
from the fruits of summer.
birds building
nests
squirrels storing
food –
time for some
relocation; rejuvenation

autumn’s air: harsh
leaves limbs lifeless.
but life’s a circle –
circumference unknown.
what once was a seed
has now grown –
tall trees; small
succumb to the gravity
that is fall.
