abandoned and left alone
chiseled from a slab of stone
nurtured from a flower seed
strangled by a garden weed

deserted and left for dead
nothing heard of nothing said
only silence, dark and cold
reasons that are left untold

abandoned and left confused
knowledge gained from being used
old in wisdom, young in age
offshoot of a scarlet sage

deserted and left with tears
crying rivers full of fears
scared to face another day
sunlight shines as if to say,

“wake up darling its time to breathe
its time for all the pain to leave
dry your eyes and mend you heart
give yourself a brand new start”

abandoned but not alone
sculpture made of brilliant stone
flower that was once a seed
stronger than any garden weed
